I cannot say that I am a political expert nor would a political career even reportedly interest me. I am writing this post as a regular American who perhaps has more than a passing interest in the direction my country appears to be headed under this administration. I fail to understand how this man could have possibly won the top prize of governing the most powerful nation on earth.
Allow me to paint a word picture of why I feel we were conned, almost hypnotised into electing this president. Lets start from scratch... He was a community organizer hobnobbing with really questionable characters that do not appear to have America's best interests at heart... outright radicals! And what about the Reverend Jeremiah Wright saga? Did any of us pay any attention to the venom that spewed out of this mans mouth? The spoken word often reveals what is in the heart... does it not?
This was Obama's spiritual mentor for many years... Red Light... RED LIGHT! And where was the extensive research and reporting from the mainstream media regarding this mans past? This entire election was like hiring an employee for a critical position in a Corporation without having him fill out an application. It is akin to not taking the time to make some phone calls to vent out anything in this persons background that may possibly affect the success of the Corporation to which he is being considered. Final Analysis: Barack Obama basically received a free pass from "Main Stream Media" and was hired for the largest corporation in the world... Head CEO For The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
Do you recall how Mr. Obama snubbed Hillary Clinton during the election process? What I saw there is... a "My Way Or The Highway" mindset that has followed through to this present day. This is the most divisive president I have ever experienced in my lifetime. What about the wars he was so against that he is now taking credit for? What about the oil spill disaster... was he not "AWOL a majority of the time... out of touch? And of course the big E... our Economy, what has he done that is such a success in this area. If you think about it... (and you don't have to travel deep into the deepest caverns of your mind to obtain a "Common Sense" solution), you cannot always spend your way out of financial failure!
I think my simplest yet most profound reality check about the wiring in this man's mind was when he had to be dragged kicking and screaming to wear a simple lapel pin of the American flag. This spoke volumes to me that we were in for a bumpy ride. Another moment for me was when Mrs. Obama made the statement that she did not like America prior to the presidency but now she does. And what about seemingly endless vacations and golf outings in an economy where some folks have been walking away from their home to live in their car? Is this the definition of an "in touch" president and first lady?
Did I hear or read correctly... was Manhattan practically shut down some time ago so Mrs. Obama could catch a movie? Did Mrs. Obama go ahead of the president on a plane to an elaborate vacation destination with the President taking a separate flight at a later time? Did Mrs. Obama really take a flight to an elaborate destination with a huge entourage of friends... all on our dime? Please don't misunderstand, a president needs to vacation... after all this is indeed a high demand / high stress job.
But isn't there an imaginary line somewhere when we can say enough is enough! Enough of the rhetoric about how our president cares so much about the welfare of his fellow countryman. I know I Do Not Stand Alone when I say "Man Up" Mr. President and do what you are being paid to do! If you can't do it... unwilling to do it... or would prefer to squeeze all the blood you can out of this turnip we call America by using our tax dollars to fund your elaborate lifestyle, then place this precious flower I call America into the hands of someone who cares!
I love this country and I am deeply offended by this con job that has been inflicted upon this country! The president of change... change to what... Socialism? Please vote wisely and make this a "One Term President". Lets rebuild our country back to the Glory our forefathers intended. Our light has dimmed for a time but it need not be snuffed out into socialism and into a country we don't recognise. Vote to restore that bright light on the hill that all can see, admire, and would die to emulate.
